Frequently asked questions
Common questions from operations, facilities and procurement teams about how Robotx supplies, deploys and supports commercial robotics in Australia and New Zealand.
Buying from Robotx
Does Robotx sell robots to consumers or small online orders?
No. Robotx works with enterprise and commercial organisations only. Every supply includes a consultation, site assessment, deployment, training and an agreed support arrangement, which is why we don’t sell through online stores.
Is equipment sold outright or leased?
Robotx supplies equipment on an outright purchase basis, with pricing and payment terms confirmed in writing. If you prefer to finance the purchase, that arrangement is between your organisation and your chosen financier, and we can provide the documentation they need.
Why don’t you publish prices?
The equipment is only one part of the cost. Site preparation, integration with lifts or systems, number of units, training and service arrangements all vary by site. We provide a written proposal after a site assessment so the figures reflect your operation rather than a generic list price.
Which manufacturers do you work with?
Robotx is an authorised Keenon Robotics distributor for Australia and New Zealand and also supplies UBTECH, Galbot, Leju Robotics, AgiBot, DEEP Robotics, Noetix Robotics and TopSky platforms. Because we work across several manufacturers, we can recommend whichever platform suits your site.
Deployment and support
Where does Robotx operate?
Robotx is based in Sydney and supplies, deploys and supports commercial robotics for organisations across Australia and New Zealand, including regional sites. Arrangements for each site are set out in our proposal.
Who operates the robots day to day?
Your team does. We configure the equipment, train operators and supervisors, and provide technical support, but day-to-day operation and site safety management remain with your organisation. Most platforms are designed so staff can start tasks, handle exceptions and complete routine checks with minimal effort.
What does ongoing support include?
Technical support for the equipment we supply, scheduled servicing, replacement parts and manufacturer warranty administration through Robotx. Support and servicing arrangements are discussed with you during scoping and matched to the equipment and how you use it.
Do robots need special Wi-Fi or building changes?
Most platforms need reliable wireless coverage along their routes, a place to charge, and clear paths of a minimum width. Some need reflective markers, lift integration hardware or small changes such as door hold-open settings. We identify any requirements during the site assessment and include them in the proposal.
Safety, privacy and people
Are commercial robots safe to operate around the public?
Commercial service and cleaning robots are designed to operate around people, using sensors to detect obstacles, slow down and stop. As with any equipment, your organisation remains responsible for workplace health and safety. We help you assess risks, set speeds and no-go zones, and train staff before handover.
Do robots collect personal information?
Many robots use cameras and sensors to navigate, and some platforms connect to manufacturer cloud services. We explain what each platform captures, where data is processed and what can be configured, so you can assess it against your obligations under the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles, or the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
Will robots replace our staff?
Rarely. Robots take on repetitive movement, carrying and routine floor care so your people can spend more time on customers, residents, patients and skilled work. The practical aim is usually covering hard-to-fill shifts and reducing physical strain, not reducing headcount.
